With the 2015 girls' field hockey season coming to an end, the Varsity team gets ready for Districts. The JV team recorded for the season was 12 and 3: while the Varsity team has an ongoing record of 14 and 4. As the season is coming to an end for the JV team they are still supporting the Varsity team during Districts.
“Previous years everyone on the team was not as close, but this year we had an unbreakable bond. This helped the chemistry on the field because we had the same love and passion for the game,” said Amanda Miller one of the captains for the Varsity team.
Sabrina Knotts one of the JV team members said that with the team bonding we then learned how to respect one another. For instance when someone would mess up we wouldn't get upset and yell at them, instead we would encourage the, to continue to improve and do better.
With the improvement over the season the varsity team was eighth in Districts this year. On Wednesday Oct. 28 the Central York Varsity team went up against Elizabethtown High School who are ninth in Districts and lost with the score being one and zero.
"With every game we play our coaches, Lori Livingston, Kelly Harrold and Jim Miller always push us to reach our goals and that might not be winning every game, but may just be achieve one of our dreams," said Knotts
With the loss at Districts both Varsity and JV stick together not only as a team on the field, but as a family off of the field.
