Rumored album releases

According to Nielsen Music, Adele’s “25” is the top selling album of 2015, even surpassing Taylor Swift’s “1989.” But what does 2016 promise us when it comes to music?

Some big names are rumored to be releasing albums this year. There will also be new artists emerging this year. From pop, to rap, to rock, there seems to be something new for all music lovers this year.

Alternative rock band, The 1975, has an album, “I Like It When You Sleep, For You Are So Beautiful, Yet So Unaware Of It,” that is to be released February 26. “The 1975 has an album that is supposed to come out in February and I’m really excited for it,” said junior Lexie Ream.

Rihanna has pushed back her album, “ANTI,” from a 2015 release and is rumored to be releasing it sometime in 2016.

Ariana Grande’s album, “Moonlight,” is also rumored to be released in 2016. Gwen Stefani, Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears are also rumored to be releasing something.

“I’ve heard Zayn Malik is supposed to be releasing an album in 2016; if that happens that would be amazing,” Ream said.

There are rumored hip-hop and rap albums from artists like Drake and Kanye West. “I’m excited for a rumored J Cole and Kendrick Lamar album,” said freshman Tommy Knapp. Drake has an album, “Views from the 6,” that could have a release this year. Also, Kanye West, just released a single that is thought to be a part of his new album, “Swish.”

A lot is coming this year for music in 2016. Will it be able to top 2015?
