The possibilities you could choose when it comes to your hair are endless. There are weaves, extensions, glue-ins or sew-ins. These can be styled curly, straight, short, long, in an updo or even braided, all of which can look fabulous in one’s hair.

There are many different types of hair that can be used for weaves. It can be either synthetic, real hair or a mixture of both. "[A weave] can last for awhile, but it depends on whether it's real hair or fake hair and also how well you keep up with the maintenance," said Kiara Brown, who works with her mother, a licensed hairstylist. "It takes about an hour and a half to two hours to put in, depending on the type of weave you want," said Brown.

The most common hair used for weaves are Peruvian, Indian, Brazilian and Malaysian hair. Peruvian hair is a multi-purpose texture that blends with both African American hair, no matter whether its relaxed or natural, and Caucasian hair textures. This type of hair is lightweight and free-flowing. Along with Peruvian hair, there is Indian hair, which is the thickest texture. It fits in more with natural hair, since it's very textured and also has a natural luster. It can come in straight, wavy or in tight curls. Brazilian hair is known to be the best textures for African American women because it's texture is full and thick. On the other hand, Malaysian hair is soft and blends with relaxed textures or fine, silky hair. It also has a luster of its own. These types of hair come in “wefts,” which are simply pieces of hair sewn together. Wefts normally come in what are known as bundles and can either be sewn, glued or clipped into one's hair. "I get sew-ins and braids; I never do glue because I don't want my hair coming out with the glue," said sophomore Tailhya Sumpter. "I think weave are easier because I don't like wearing my natural hair. When I put it in a weave it helps [my hair] grow, while also protecting it," said Sumpter. In the early 2000s, Andre Walker, Oprah Winfrey's hairstylist, came up with a hair-typing chart that allowed people to identify their hair type, so that they could find the products that suit their hair best. Walker's chart goes from the straightest hair, being 1a, to the curliest hair, or 4c. The number on the chart indicates how much of a curl pattern one has, while the letter represents how defined the pattern is. Curly hair is generally harder to manage than straight hair with little to no wave.

Styles for people with curly hair can be very versatile. Some even choose to dreadlock their hair. Once the hair is locked, it can be styled in just about any way straight hair could. Another common style is braids or twists. The difference between the two is that braids are done using three strands of hair and twists are done using only two. These styles can be worn as-is or taken out a few hours afterward to create a defined curly look in one's hair.

However, some women prefer to wear their natural hair. If one does not wish to manipulate their hair to achieve a style they like, a “wash and go” is a popular style. With a “wash and go,” you simply cleanse your hair, use a good curl defining product and wear your hair natural. Once your hair is dry, if more volume is desired, the “wash and go” is followed with a quick picking of one's hair with either a comb or pick. If you still want more definition, you should diffuse your hair with a blow dryer when the hair is 50-75 percent dry.

A trend that goes with beautiful hair is nice eyebrows. “Eyebrows on point,” “Eyebrows on fleek,” and “Eyebrows slaying,” are all phrases that are now being used to describe the shape, contour, color and wear of people's eyebrows. 2015 was the year of the eyebrow, a year when having long, full and filled eyebrows was added to the list of physical attributes described as beautiful. Girls and boys alike were getting their eyebrows waxed, tinted, threaded and plucked to their liking. Brow tutorials flooded the web as makeup companies put out new brow products left and right in response to the new craze. What's special about eyebrows these past couple months? The new desired look is thick and long eyebrows, instead of thin and short.

Dating back to the 1920s, thin eyebrows were fashionable and trendy. For years the desired brow was pencil thin. However, people are now growing their eyebrows out and filling in the empty space with pomades, pencils and powders. Highlights under the brow is also a consistent addition to accentuate the shape of the brows. "My eyebrows complete my outfit," said senior A'Rreal Collins. "Full is the way to go," she said. "They make me feel pretty," added another senior Paige Brookes.
