Science Fair

The Central York High School student body is filled with talented young individuals who strive to go above and beyond in their academics.

A few of these students attended the York County Science and Engineering Fair in early  March 2018 to show off their hard work and dedication.

Students Grace Wills, Julianna Mariano, Patrick O’Neill, Adam Rilatt and Daniella Feistritzer attended the science fair and presented their projects for judging.

The projects are first judged based on a 100 point rubric. If the project gets scored with a 90 or above, the projects are awarded a “first place” prize. First place participants continue to day two of the fair.

The Central students performed exceptionally well at the fair, with Junior Division Third Place winners Grace Wills and Julianna Mariano, as well Senior Division First Place winner Patrick O’Neill.

Sophomores Daniella Feistritzer and Adam Rilatt not only received the First Place Award, but they also received a Grand Champion Award.

“Hearing our names called as the grand champions felt a little surreal, but once I could wrap my head around the idea it felt pretty amazing,” said Feistritzer about her science fair win.

The Grand Champion Award qualified Feistritzer and Rilatt to compete in May at the INTEL International Science and Engineering Fair, held in Pittsburgh.
